2. A modem runs on a public IP address. Public IP addresses can be easily found on the internet. Whereas, the IP address of the router is completely private and you cannot find the address of this IP address on the internet.
3. The area of working of a modem is large because it uses a Wide area network (WAN) to operate. Whereas, The working area of the router is comparatively low because it uses a Local area network (LAN) to operate.
4. A modem helps to relay the signals to Comcast, Verizon, At&T, and many other internets services providers to your house and office. It converts the analog signals of the internet into digital signals of the internet.
5. A router is a type of networking device which helps to distribute your internet connections from the modem to all other devices connected with them like Mobile phones, laptops, Smart TVs, and many others.
